Ex-Officio Director, Vice President Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive

Kate Robertson-Cain is a highly accomplished healthcare executive with over 32 years of experience in nursing and clinical leadership. She has a proven track record of excellence in intensive care, surgical services, and oncology, with a strong focus on operational leadership, quality improvement, and patient-centered care.
Kate is the vice president, clinical services, Midtown lead, and chief nursing executive at Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN), after joining Grand River Hospital in 2021. Previously, she served as associate chief nursing officer at the Detroit Medical Center, Adult Central Campus, where she led strategic initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Kate holds a nursing diploma from Mohawk College, a bachelor of science in nursing, and a master’s degree in nursing with a specialization in nursing administration, both from Ferris State University.
